Skill levels of New Zealand jobs

Skills matter. Over one-third of New Zealand workers are in the most highly-skilled jobs. This article looks at the number of people working in highly-skilled jobs, lower-skilled jobs, and all the jobs in between. The number of highly-skilled jobs has been growing steadily since 2009. Men and women work equally in highly-skilled jobs, but their numbers vary in other skill levels. This article also analyses skills differences by ethnicity, age, and full- and part-time work.

We look at what happens to the profits earned by these sectors – are they reinvested in New Zealand, or returned to Australia as dividends?
