Statistics New Zealand, in collaboration with Māori group representatives and government agencies, is reviewing the statistical standard for iwi, and the iwi classification that groups the Māori population by their iwi or tribe. This consultation paper provides information about the statistical standard and the scope of the review. It asks for your opinion on the standard, and options for change.

We encourage you to read this document and then make a submission.
