Perceived group discrimination

Why is this important for social statistics?

We measure this because freedom from discrimination is vital to democracy. People and groups who are discriminated against may not be able to participate fully in society. Discrimination also affects mental and physical well-being.

This indicator measures the proportion of people (aged 18 years and over) who said selected groups are the targets of ‘some’ or a ‘great deal’ of discrimination.
