Stats NZ is developing well-being indicators, Indicators Aotearoa New Zealand - Ngā Tūtohu Aotearoa, to track New Zealand’s progress. As the well-being indicators have similar aims to the NZ Progress Indicators and NZ Social Indicators, we are reviewing the future of these existing indicators.

In New Zealand, formal education is compulsory for those aged 6 to 16 years. Early childhood education and tertiary study are optional.
The proportion of adults aged 25 to 34 years who have completed a level 4 or higher-level qualification.
The proportion of students who attended early childhood education in the six months prior to starting school.
