Crime statistics: Recorded crime statistics move to NZ Police website – media release (November 2016)
From November 2016 the recorded crime (RCVS and RCOS) data release will move from NZ.Stat to a new reporting tool accessible from the Police website (policedata.nz). The new tool will present data in a series of standardised, user-friendly interactive reports.

The latest 2014/15 fiscal year, and revised 2014 calendar year tables. These collections are sourced from Department of Corrections data, and provide breakdowns by age, sex, ethnicity, offence, and duration of remand, sentence or order.

Prison and community-sentence population tables
These tables provide information on prisoners and community-sentences managed by the Department of Corrections. Published by calendar year and fiscal year, the data includes offence type and duration.

Access to recorded crime statistics changes
New Zealand Police produces statistical data on victims of crime and alleged offenders dealt with by Police. The two data series are Recorded Crime Victims Statistics (RCVS) and Recorded Crime Offenders Statistics (RCOS). From 30 November 2016, release of RCVS and RCOS data has moved from NZ.Stat to Police's new reporting tool (policedata.nz), which is accessible from the Police website (www.police.govt.nz).

New Zealand recorded crime tables
These six-monthly tables provide the number of offences recorded and resolved by the Police, where these offences occurred, and changes over time at the national and subnational level. The tables also provide apprehension statistics, showing demographic information on the persons apprehended and how their offending was resolved by Police.
