In October 2014 compared with September 2014:  

  • Food prices showed no overall change.
  • Fruit and vegetable prices fell 3.2 percent.
  • Meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 1.1 percent.
  • Grocery food prices rose 1.1 percent.
  • Non-alcoholic beverage prices fell 2.0 percent.
  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.2 percent.
Annual change

From October 2013 to October 2014:

  • Food prices increased 0.9 percent.
  • Fruit and vegetable prices increased 2.6 percent.
  • Meat, poultry, and fish prices increased 1.2 percent.
  • Grocery food prices decreased 0.2 percent.
  • Non-alcoholic beverage prices increased 0.9 percent.
  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices increased 1.6 percent.
