In March 2014 compared with February 2014:

  • Food prices fell 0.3 percent.
  • Fruit and vegetable prices rose 0.5 percent.
  • Meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 0.9 percent.
  • Grocery food prices fell 1.6 percent.
  • Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 0.2 percent.
  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.4 percent.
Annual change

From March 2013 to March 2014:

  • Food prices increased 1.2 percent.
  • Fruit and vegetable prices increased 1.5 percent.
  • Meat, poultry, and fish prices increased 1.6 percent.
  • Grocery food prices increased 0.2 percent.
  • Non-alcoholic beverage prices increased 2.7 percent.
  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices increased 1.9 percent.
