This release provides information on the capital structure of businesses in New Zealand, the sources of finance they use, and their recent financing experiences.
The Business Finance Survey collected information on recent debt and equity finance requests for businesses with between 1 and 500 employees. Information was also collected on the current financial structure of the businesses, and other characteristics that may have influenced the businesses’ ability to obtain finance.
This one-off survey was the first of its type to be conducted in New Zealand. It was developed by Statistics New Zealand in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development (MED).
The latest release contains tables on:
- finance requested
- successful finance requests
- sources of finance received
- total debt and equity.
