Electronic Card Transactions: November 2011

Key facts

Changes in the seasonally adjusted value of transactions (compared with October 2011) were as follows:

  • Total electronic card transactions were flat, down 0.2 percent.
  • Transactions in the retail industries fell 0.5 percent.
  • Transactions in the core retail industries fell 1.3 percent.
  • The consumables, hospitality, and apparel industries had the largest decreases. Fuel retailing had the largest increase.

The actual (unadjusted) value of transactions in the core retail series was up 4.5 percent from November 2010.
